A cry
Open your heart, your being
Open wide, like the jaws of the hungry upon their meal
Open with goodwill, open with love!
Fend off the poisons of the world, send them away
Feed yourself good things
Feed yourself and be fed by the world, be fed good things!
Create yourself anew each day that you fall
Stumble and think of the healing you can do
Leap freely, knowing there is no net
Make the reach, knowing your grasp may fall short
And if you catch, be proud and keep learning!
Empower yourself, that you may empower the Universe!
I cry unto you, Awake! and be whole!

Series of Essays
Greetings. A recent series of essays are briefly described behind the cut, with links to the articles. Magickal technique, self-empowerment, breaking of habits, yogic disciplines, and moving from a dual-nature into polarity. Some things about my own experiences and insights, and the value of silence.

Transmuting Personal Energy
Some thoughts about how to empower oneself by removing unwanted personal habits.

Hermes Emerald Tablet and Yoga
Hermes Emerald Tablet is a basic concept in Western-based Medieval Alchemy, and its one of the primary sources of information on how to attain the philosophers stone, and turn base metals (unconsciousness) into gold (divine consciousness).

Technique for Beginners Mind
Learning a random skill, instrument or pursing knowledge or performing math for no reason other than being fully engaged in the activity can be a powerfully engaging method of self-realization.

Essays: Gap Technique and Tantra Yoga
Two recent essays.

Technique: Shifting Gap Intuitive-Logic Method
Between the left and right brain modes of operation is a space, a razor-fine line which can be walked. Shamans would call being in the space the ability to be in both worlds at once, the conscious deliberate world AND the surrendered mysterious energetic world. For me, this space is another representation of the ‘GAP’, the ever-present unknown which makes up the greatest majority of manifest reality, the realm of infinite potential.

Tantra Yoga and Technique of Building Consciousness
Tantra yoga is able to use any action as a means for self-realization, recognizing and incorporating into its practices the universal laws of attraction and repulsion, and integrating with the underlying unity beyond them. For clarity, tantra yoga has a scope and potential far beyond the sexual aspects typically identified in the Western world.

Two Essays .. Consciousness and More
Witness is Conscious Action
Witness awareness, meditative awareness, conscious observation, conscious sight, witness mode of being, conscious awareness; these words are attempts to identify the Self which observes, not the mind which watches. To rephrase, witness conscious awareness is a mode of being in which the observation of the observer who watches the world occurs.

Polarity and Alignment With Universal Energies
The universe wants exactly what we want for ourselves. When we start following the laws of the universe, then we have the power of the universe behind each of our actions for fulfillment of our purpose.

Please, if you wish to converse with me about these articles, do so by posting comments in the article itself, and not through this link. The comments received from readers are very insightful, and tend to be of benefit to other readers. When the comments and dialogues are scattered, then your intuitive input may be lost in the shuffle.

Giving It To Guru; Experience And Technique
Personal experience involving self-hatred, deep depression and the technique which kicked me out of it. Surrendering experiences to Shiva, the third eye, allows one to remain non-attached to all events, being the witness of the play of life instead of being the victim in daily drama.

Spiritual Experiences: Kundalini and Shakti
Another misconception discovered on my own path involving kundalini and shakti, and how kundalini awakenings are really something else. We have an energetic prana body, and spiritual practice awakens this body. This awakening is often misidentified as a kundalini awakening.

Article ...
Greetings, an article on a common misconception in meditation. Also touches upon consciousness (shiva) and energy (shakti), yoga and conscious awareness.

Zo, this, this life, is
a process, eh?

Not changing from X to Y,
just changing. Process.

There are no "states" to come from or
go to, there is only process :-)

We are never arriving, never departing
but/and always arriving and departing.

We are flux, fluxxing :-) Or,
better yet, we flux. Allatime :-)

Let me introduce myself, I'm Hummer. First time poster. This piece cool here? I was checking out "sensitivity" and came upon Translumination and it felt like you folks and I have somethings in common :-)

Stop Your Thoughts, They Destroy You
Another technique article: How to stop your thoughts.

Thoughts are the first medium of creation in our universe. Our energy body automatically follows the demands of thought. When each person is a multitide of thought forms and patterns, our energy is sapped by parastic patterns we pick up during youth and in past lives.

This article is not a technique to literally 'STOP THINKING' ... but how to stop the thought REACTIONS which are hinderances to being effective and centered. No-mind concept is touched upon with witness consciousness.

Creativity and Play: Biological Birthrights
Wonderful passage towards the tail end of Desmond Morris' Peoplewatching that I just felt the need to quote - feel free to spread, meme and glamourbomb with as appropriate:

The naked ape should really be rechristened the creative ape. At our best we remain, all our lives, childlike adults, ready at the slightest excuse to indulge in mature play. If ever we give this up and become depressingly earnest, pious adult-adults, we will have betrayed our heritage as the most exuberant, most mischievously imaginative animal on the planet. When that happens, if it ever does, it will be time for us to move on and make way for some more attractive species to replace us. In the meantime the beautiful game of life is ours for the taking.

Morris isn't a philosopher, nor an avant-garde social commentator; he's first and foremost a zoologist, interested chiefly in what seems biologically optimal and adapted for a particular species. For him to say that, essentially, passion, fluorescence and childlike wonder are not only good for humans but an integral part of what humans were designed to be, without which they would be lacking and deviant from their nature, is rather mindblowing.

This was linked in avoidants:

I think it outlines a lot of "fluorescent" characteristics, but doesn't go into any depth in explaining them. Also, books on the subject seem to carry the flaw of all self-help books in that they're very individual and micro-socially oriented and don't deal with the 'HSP' as a socialised kind of subjectivity.

Hunter S. Thompson DEAD

Hunter S. Thompson Shoots Himself

The founder of Gonzo journalism dead at 67.  I always believed in checking out if the time ever felt right or shit wasn't fun anymore so I'm not against the suicide solution.  His crazy ass will be missed.

Vuja Dey?
I'm going to have to look into this article more, but on face value its implications and evidence lends credibility to other not yet accepted phenomena and numina that have empirically been known for thousands of years.  Basically it is saying that they have strong indicators that the human 'subconscious' is able to sense certain events a short time before they happen.  One of the ways is with a random binary number generator and the influence of the one and zero ratios.  The other that struck me was the change in the brainwave patterns moments before a provocative image is shown to the subject.  I guess this article is saying the experiement has been repeated numerous times, if so this totally gives room for some of the more inexplicable powers of certain kung fu masters.   The tendency they have to be able to circumvent their opponent not by raw speed or power but with being in the right place at the right time and reacting extraordinarily quickly.  Or the tales of them not being able to be surprised or attacked from behind.  It also reminds me of one of Castaneda's books when Carlos asks DJ how a man of knowledge would possibly be able to defend against a hidden enemy with a scoped high powered rifle.  Don Juan replied that he would simply not pass by the hidden assassin so that the gun wouldn't make a difference.  It was something to that effect.  The concepts of intuition and 'having the hairs raise up on the back of your neck' before some impending significant event would be given more credence.  Anyway here's a good quote from it followed by the link.  Read the whole article and let me know what you think.

"It is possible - in theory - that time may not just move forwards but backwards, too. And if time ebbs and flows like the tides in the sea, it might just be possible to foretell major world events. We would, in effect, be 'remembering' things that had taken place in our future.

'There's plenty of evidence that time may run backwards, says Prof Bierman at the University of Amsterdam.

And if it's possible for it to happen in physics, then it can happen in our minds, too."

"He began by showing them a sequence of provocative cartoon drawings.

When the pictures were shown, the machines registered the subject's brainwaves as they reacted strongly to the images before them. This was to be expected.

Far less easy to explain was the fact that in many cases, these dramatic patterns began to register a few seconds before each of the pictures were even flashed up.

It was as though Dr Hartwell's case studies were somehow seeing into the future, and detecting when the next shocking image would be shown next.

It was extraordinary - and seemingly inexplicable."

i tell you this so that we both REMEMBER

so much web-reading these days. i wonder if one of them e-book reader thingies would be a useful gadget? 'been burning out my eyeballs on this screen, immersed in articles on memory...

(passing links from avad)
Architecture of Digital Space (by Eden Muir and Rory O'Neill, 1995)
Memory Palaces: A Millennial Metaphor? (by Carl Malamud, Mappa Munda Magazine, 1999)
Method of Loci

a catalytic state of delicate remembering... plunging into a stratified lake, a quicksand cake... grabbing for any handholds... scrambling around to catch it all... my arms aren't wide enough, and this net has damn holes in it everywhere...

the Art of Memory, ars memoria... Memory Palaces, imaginal and real... constructing a path that can be revisited by the Mind's Eye, each object a memory locus that holds a thought... mnemotechnic architecture as a means to access information... how did you get there? what associative path did you take? all sources seem to agree that memory is a spatial arrangement... referents are positional... the trick lies in systematically placing memory objects in places that you'll remember... hopefully, unlike a squirrel, burying her nuts haphazardly through any-which backyard... scattered nuggets crammed into nook and cranny... packed in infinite moebius coils, waiting to spring out...

Hedonic Tantra, by Erik Davis
If more mainstream clubbers are willing to sacralize the Teletubby bliss of MDMA, then psy-trance dancers tip their hats to the cosmic reptiles that snicker eternally from the inky depths of psilocybin... our spiritual relation to technologies often takes on the character of a pact, an uncertain alliance... it must march straight through the pixelating doorways of the datapocalypse.

Oh. My. God. Read this. You don't need to know psy-trance, you don't need to know techno, but read this.
